Bharat Jodo Yatra Garnered Unparalleled Love & Support From All Segments Of Society
The Congress party felicitated the participants of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a nationwide program aimed at uniting and strengthening India. Congress workers from across the country gathered in Delhi for this occasion. The yatra commenced on 7th September 2022 from Kanyakumari, covering a distance of over 4,000 kilometers in 136 days, and concluded in Jammu and Kashmir, passing through 12 states.
Tariq Anwar, a former member of the Rajya Sabha, was the guest of honor at the event. Although Congress spokesperson Alka Lamba and program coordinator Bunty Khan were absent, the ceremony proceeded with enthusiasm. Tariq Anwar expressed his gratitude, stating that the Bharat Jodo Yatra received tremendous support from all sections of society. Alongside Congress leaders, lakhs of people joined the movement to voice their concerns regarding the economic, social, and political issues currently dividing the nation.
The Yatra aimed to raise mass awareness against unemployment, price rises, hatred, divisive politics, and the over-centralization of the political system. It attracted people from diverse backgrounds, symbolizing India's unity, cultural diversity, and the resilience of its citizens. Program coordinator Bunty Khan, speaking to the media, emphasized the unity among Congress leaders. He highlighted the electoral success of the Congress party in regions where the Bharat Jodo Yatra had passed, citing the example of Karnataka, where the Congress formed a government with an absolute majority. Khan declared the Congress as the party best suited to serve the people.
