Agra Metro Train High-Speed Trial Flagged Off By CM Yogi

Agra: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the high-speed trial run of the Agra Metro at Taj East Gate Metro Station. The project, part of several new development initiatives for Agra under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, had its foundation stone laid in 2020. Notably, the priority corridor from Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar Temple, spanning 6 kilometers, will be completed six months ahead of schedule, by February 2024.

During the trial run, the Agra Metro train will operate at speeds between 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, facilitating the early completion of the priority corridor. CM Yogi expressed pride in the progress of the metro project, aiming to provide excellent public transportation facilities to residents and tourists alike.

Uttar Pradesh, with successful metro operations in five cities, is leading the way in the country. The metro in Kanpur has already been inaugurated, and the rapid rail system between Delhi and Meerut is progressing rapidly, set to cover the distance in just 40 minutes upon completion.

CM Yogi praised the efforts of the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) and emphasized the importance of expediting the first phase of the 29-kilometer Agra Metro project. He commended the corporation for its efficiency and high-quality standards.

The Agra Metro will adhere to international standards, with features such as regenerative braking systems for up to 35 percent energy savings and carbon dioxide-based sensors for energy conservation. The metro trains will be operated using the Automatic Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) mode, ensuring safe and modern transportation options for the residents.
