Amit Shah Inaugurates Sushma Bhawan & Veterinary Centre, A Step In The Interest Of Women And Animals

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the working women hostel 'Sushma Bhawan' at Laxmi Bai Nagar in New Delhi and virtually inaugurated the Modern Veterinary Centre at Moti Bagh.

Sushma Bhawan has 39 well-furnished rooms in a three-storey building, equipped with facilities like air conditioners and lifts. The building will provide safe and comfortable accommodation to 78 working women. Shri Shah handed over the keys of the hostel rooms to three new residents during the inauguration.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena, MP Ms Bansuri Swaraj, NDMC Chairman Shri Keshav Chandra and other officials were present on the occasion.



In his address, Shri Shah said that Sushma Swaraj ji was a symbol of women's empowerment and struggle.
Naming this hostel after her is a source of inspiration for women. Referring to the urban development vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that this building is an example of safe housing for 500 working women.



NDMC Chairman Shri Keshav Chandra informed that the residents of Sushma Bhawan will also get facilities of metro connectivity, swimming pool and open gym.
The Lt Governor termed it as an important step towards women empowerment.

The virtually inaugurated veterinary centre has state-of-the-art facilities, including air-conditioned consultation rooms, OPD section, surgery section, and waiting area. Soon, services like ultrasound, digital X-ray, diagnostic lab and ECG will start here.
This centre will ensure accurate diagnosis and best care for animals and birds.

Lauding the urban development policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shri Shah said that in the last 10 years, development works worth Rs 68,000 crore have been done in Delhi, with special focus on roads, railways, metro and eco-friendly projects.
