Veteran social activist Anna Hazare has thrown his support behind the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) alongside Kisan Vikas Samiti State President Bhamashah Ramniwas Meena and State Chief Convenor Ravindra Meena. Hazare, renowned for his dedication to social causes, made his first visit to East Rajasthan, addressing a massive gathering of over 50 thousand individuals near the Kuthila Hanuman Temple in Todabhim.

Hazare emphasized the critical need for clean water in Eastern Rajasthan and the importance of executing the ERCP promptly. He expressed surprise at the government's lack of seriousness regarding this essential requirement. In his impassioned speech, Hazare asserted, "Water security is a basic need that every region's people should have, and the ERCP is directly relevant to the lives of Eastern Rajasthan's people and the nation's prosperity."

Despite his age, the 86-year-old Hazare vowed to continue fighting for the cause, warning of a potential large-scale movement if the government delays ERCP implementation. He urged the government to declare ERCP a national project, echoing the sentiments of local farmer leaders Ramniwas Meena and Ravindra Meena, who visited Hazare's home in Ralegan Siddhi to understand the project's significance.

Hazare, joined by other prominent figures like Kalpana Tai Inamdar, Dr. Kamalnath Towery, and Subhash Parashar, stressed his lifelong commitment to serving the country and society. He maintained that agitation would be the common people's only recourse if the government failed to meet their demands, expressing readiness for a significant movement in support of ERCP.

The event was organized by Deendayal Saraswat, the state media in-charge of the steering committee. Hazare and his team received a warm Rajasthani welcome, greeted with a cotton garland, Rajasthani turban, bouquet, and shawl. Hazare extended his gratitude to Ramnivas Meena and Ravindra Meena for the warm reception and also released booklets highlighting the public welfare initiatives undertaken by Ramnivas Meena.

Bhamashah Ramniwas Meena, appreciating Hazare's support, noted that Hazare's involvement had galvanized their movement. He expressed hope that the government would take prompt action to elevate ERCP to the status of a national project. Hazare's active support for national causes, even in his advanced years, exemplifies his unwavering dedication to serving the people and the nation.
