Aranmanai 4 Movie Review: Sundar C With Raashii Khanna & Tamannaah Shine In Funny Horror-Comedy Elements
While horror films have become popular among children, comedies centered on them are also given importance. At some places they guarantee laughter.
Lawyer Saravanan (Sundar S) lives with his aunt (Kovai Sarala). It is said that his younger sister Mrs. Selvi (also Tamannaah), who had married against the wishes of the family, committed suicide. So Sundar S moves into Tamannaah's "palace" with his aunt. Suspecting the mystery behind his sister and husband's death, he discovers that there is another life in the house.
The core of the film is the conflict between an evil spirit who wants to increase his power by killing the three and the good spirit of a mother who loses her life trying to kill them. Sundar C shoots it as fast as possible in his own style. The horror elements also help the film, which add strength to the fast-paced script of the first half. But in the second half, we can't help but feel that the speed brakes have been reduced. While horror films have become popular among children, comedies centered on them are also given importance. At some places they guarantee laughter.
The release of harmful energy and freedom from imprisonment is visualized superficially. Even though the film answers the reasons why the evil power comes to kill a certain trio, it could have been shot more clearly. The sequential frightening events centered on Kovaya Sarla, Rashi Khanna and the boy are tiring. The scenes where Tamanna tries to escape with the children are not credible. The scenes of Sundar.C fighting the powerful evil power are of the "What the hell is Saravana" type. Amman song, Khushbu, Simran dance, the climax scenes of destruction of evil are reminiscent of the tone of the previous film. Coimbatore Sarla is still battling Kanchana. Sundar C has acted brilliantly, he melts for Tamanna and struggles to save life. Tamanna, who appears very less in the first and second part, gave a brilliant performance. Raashi Khanna who plays the doctor and Santosh Pratap who plays Tamanna's husband are not given enough space.
Aranmanai 4 manages to be unintentionally funny even in serious situations thanks to the poor execution of some interesting ideas. The performances of Sundar C, Tamannaah and Raashi Khanna are enough to take the film to the next level. If you're interested in the Aranmanai franchise and are willing to look past the obvious logical flaws, this might be the movie for you.
