Arvind Kejriwal stated that he did not resign from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi even after being in jail because that is exactly what Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants. He said, "This is what Modi Ji wants.
He knows he can't defeat me in Delhi, and hence this whole conspiracy has been hatched. If I resign, the next target will be Mamata Banerjee in Bengal, Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala, MK Stalin in Tamil Nadu, and so on. They (the BJP) want to arrest opposition leaders and down their governments."

He assured people that he was not hungry for power and claimed that his resignation would cause harm to democracy. "I am not hungry for power. I left the Income Tax Commissioner's post to work in slums. I quit from the government after 49 days (in 2013). But it is a part of our struggle that I am not quitting as chief minister this time," Mr. Arvind Kejriwal said.
