Aspirants Season 2 Review: Naveen Kasturia's Performance Keeps You Invested In The Story Despite Heavy-Handed Storytelling

"Aspirants" Season 2 continues to explore a dual-timeline narrative, akin to its first season. This season delves into the intertwined lives of Guri (Shivankit Singh Parihar), SK (Abhilash Thapliyal), Abhilash Sharma (Naveen Kasturia), and introduces the character of Deepa (Tengam Celine) in one timeline. In the second timeline, set five years later, it reveals how these characters have evolved in their careers and personal lives.

Plot

The series weaves two timelines, one with Guri opting out of the UPSC journey and SK returning to prepare for his final attempt and teach. Abhilash is preparing for the last leg of his Civil Service Exam and forms a close connection with Deepa, who is also in the final stages of the exam. In the second timeline, Abhilash has become a District Magistrate, Sandeep Bhaiya (Sunny Hinduja) is now an Assistant Labour Commissioner, SK is a teacher, and Guri is a successful entrepreneur, married to Dhairya (Namita Dubey), Abhilash's ex-girlfriend.
