AU Small Finance Bank Enhances Golden Temple Devotees Mobility With A Generous Donation Of Four Electric Golf Carts
AU Small Finance Bank, India's largest Small Finance Bank (SFB), has demonstrated its commitment to community support by contributing four electric golf carts to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) at the head office. The donation is intended to enhance the mobility of devotees (sangat) visiting Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, commonly known as the Golden Temple.
The ceremonial presentation took place in the presence of SGPC President, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, and Mr. Rishi Dhariwal, Group Head - Liability at AU Small Finance Bank, who handed over the keys of the electric vehicles to Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Rishi Dhariwal explained that AU Small Finance Bank has donated these electric golf carts with the aim of improving the experience for children, the elderly, and disabled individuals visiting Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. These electric carts are designed to facilitate the smooth movement of elderly and needy individuals to Sri Darbar Sahib.

Recognizing the significance of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib as a spiritual center drawing devotees from around the world, AU Small Finance Bank acknowledged the challenges faced by physically challenged and senior citizens during their visits. In response to this, the bank initiated the donation of electric vehicles to enhance the facility for senior citizens with limited mobility, providing an accessible means for them to navigate the revered site.
In addition to the electric carts, AU Small Finance Bank also contributed to the infrastructure by establishing a charging station for the vehicles and an e-cart station for the sangat to sit. The e-cart station is strategically located in front of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Saran. The operation of these vehicles will be managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
As a gesture of appreciation, Mr. Rishi Dhariwal felicitated the Chief Guest, Advocate Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami, with a memento, underscoring the collaborative effort between AU Small Finance Bank and the SGPC to enhance the overall experience for devotees at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. This philanthropic initiative aligns with the bank's commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
