Ayodhya's Deepotsav Dazzles, Setting A Record With 22.23 Lakh Diyas Lit, Confirmed By Drone-Assisted Counting

Lucknow/Ayodhya: In a spectacular achievement, Ayodhya has achieved a remarkable milestone by illuminating an astounding 22.23 lakh lamps during Deepotsav 2023, setting a new record. This surpasses last year's count of 15.76 lakh lamps by an impressive six lakh and 47 thousand.

After a meticulous count conducted by drones, Deepotsav has now etched its name in the Guinness Book of World Records. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's steadfast dedication to Ayodhya has once again propelled this ancient city onto the global stage.

The Uttar Pradesh Government's 'Grand Deepotsav' garnered recognition from the Guinness Book of World Records after their representatives witnessed and acknowledged the unprecedented achievement of lighting an extraordinary number of lamps simultaneously at a single location.

The endeavor saw significant contributions from teachers at Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, affiliated colleges, inter-colleges, and volunteer organizations. As the scheduled time for lighting the lamps commenced, 22.23 lakh lamps were ignited one by one, accompanied by the resonant chanting of 'Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Jai Ram.' The entire Ayodhya reverberated with the triumphant slogan 'Jai Shri Ram' as the Guinness Book of World Records representatives officially confirmed the record.

Guinness Book of World Records Executive Swapnil Dangarikar and Consultant Nischal Barot shared this information after the successful count. Notably, a similar record for lamp lighting was established the previous year. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, upon receiving the certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records, extended warm greetings to the entire Ayodhya. Diplomats from 54 countries bore witness to this extraordinary achievement, congratulating Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for this unforgettable accomplishment.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the visionary behind the inception of Deepotsav in 2017, has once again won the hearts of the entire country with this event. His unwavering commitment to nurturing the deep-rooted connection between Gorakshpeeth and Ayodhya has been evident throughout his tenure.

The success trajectory of Deepotsav is reflected in the escalating numbers of lamps lit each year: 1.71 lakh in 2017, 3.01 lakh in 2018, 4.04 lakh in 2019, 6.06 lakh in 2020, 9.41 lakh in 2021, and 15.76 lakh in 2022. This year's staggering 22.23 lakh lamps illuminated the celebration, symbolizing the growing prosperity of the state and the country under the Yogi government.
