BFI & CPBL Announced The Launch Of “Pro International Basketball League"
The Captains Professional Basketball Pvt Ltd (CPBL), in partnership with the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), has announced the launch of the Pro International Basketball League (InBL PRO U-25). This league aims to revolutionize Indian basketball by providing exceptional opportunities for young talent. The league will kick off on January 15, 2025, featuring six teams competing for the championship. Following its commencement, one game will be held daily, with the tournament culminating in the final fours in Abu Dhabi in early March 2025.
The player auction is scheduled for January 9, 2025, and will showcase talent from India and international players from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. This marks a significant step in elevating Indian basketball to a global platform.
Key figures at the launch included Mr. Aadhav Arjuna, President of BFI, Mr. Kulvinder Singh Gill, Secretary General of BFI, Mr. Chengalraya Naidu, Treasurer of BFI, Mr. Rupinder Brar, Founder and Chairman of INBL Pro, Mr. Abhisek Yash Tyagi, Founder and Co-Chairman of INBL Pro, Mr. Dushyant Khanna, Founder and Director of INBL Pro, and Mr. Parveen Batish, CEO of INBL Pro.
The INBL PRO U-25 will feature six franchises, each comprising 12 players. Teams will consist of six Indian players under 25 and six international players, ensuring a diverse mix of talent. To support player development and ensure high-quality gameplay, the league will include 12 international head coaches and six Indian assistant coaches.
This initiative is set to mark a bold new chapter in Indian basketball, providing a platform for young players to shine on an international stage.
