BJP Protests Kejriwal Govt's Religious Water Tanker Bias In Matia Mahal Assembly
Delhi BJP President Mr. Virendra Sachdeva shared the video and questioned Chief Minister Kejriwal about his government's actions and demanded action against MLA Shuaib Iqbal
Under the leadership of Leader of Opposition in Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, BJP workers, along with MLA Shuaib Iqbal from Matia Mahal Vidhan Sabha, took action during severe water shortages caused by floods. They brought relief tankers to help the people of Delhi when the water plants broke down. However, there were complaints about Delhi Jal Board prioritizing relief tankers for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers, allegedly due to religious bias. A video released by former councilor Mr. Rakesh Kumar further alleged that MLA Shuaib Iqbal exerted pressure on the Jal Board to send water tankers to Muslim-dominated streets while neglecting Hindu-dominated areas like Sitaram Bazar, Lal Darwaza, Kuncha Pati Ram, and Minto Road.
Delhi BJP President Mr. Virendra Sachdeva shared the video and questioned Chief Minister Kejriwal about his government's actions and demanded action against MLA Shuaib Iqbal. This led to widespread condemnation of the Kejriwal government. In response, workers from Matia Mahal and other assembly constituencies of Old Delhi protested at MLA Shuaib Iqbal's residence. Prominent Delhi BJP leaders, including Sardar Kuldeep Singh, Ravindra Gupta, Ashok Goyal, Lata Sodhi, Ajay Bhardwaj, and others, addressed the workers at the demonstration.
Mr. Ramveer Singh Bidhuri criticized the religious discrimination in the distribution of water relief, stating that rivers do not differentiate between Hindus and Muslims when providing water. He expressed regret over the religious favoritism allegedly conducted by the Jal Board under the influence of MLA Shuaib Iqbal and his councilor's son.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Mr. Praveen Shankar Kapoor highlighted that the religious bias in water relief was not limited to Matia Mahal assembly constituency but was also observed in Chandni Chowk, Ballimaran, and Sadar Bazar constituencies. The allegations made by Aam Aadmi Party leader Rakesh Kumar regarding religious bias during the water crisis have been brought to public attention. Kapoor called for the Chief Minister to take action against Kumar or apologize to the people of Delhi if the allegations are false.
In summary, BJP workers, led by Mr. Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, protested against religious bias in the distribution of water relief during a water shortage crisis. They accused the Kejriwal government and MLA Shuaib Iqbal of favoring certain religious groups and neglecting others. The issue has garnered attention and raised questions about the government's actions and responsibility.
