Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Showers Flowers On Kanwariyas On Meerut-Delhi Highway Expressing His Support
During the auspicious month of Sawan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demonstrated his support for the Kanwariyas by showering flowers on them. He personally visited the Delhi-Meerut highway from Saharanpur, where thousands of Shiva devotees had gathered. The Kanwariyas were overjoyed to see their Chief Minister and expressed their enthusiasm through chants of 'Yogi-Yogi,' 'Har Har Mahadev,' and 'Jai Bhole.' Notably, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad were also present during this event.
Earlier in the afternoon, the administration and senior police officers showered flowers on the Shiva devotees from a helicopter. The floral shower extended from Meerut to Barnawa, encompassing the Kanwariyas along the way. This practice of showering flowers on the Kanwariyas has been observed annually since the Yogi government assumed power in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, a similar gesture took place in Varanasi, where officers showered flowers on the devotees.
To conduct an aerial survey of the Kanwar Yatra, the Commissioner, District Magistrate (DM), and other senior officials took off in a helicopter from the Meerut police line. They flew over the entire district and its boundaries, welcoming the Kanwariyas by showering flowers from above. The floral shower route covered several areas, including Augharnath temple, Police Line, Begumpul, Sivaya Toll, Mataur, Sakoti, Dadri, Khatauli, Salawa, Nanu Pul, Poothkhas Bridge, Jani Bridge, Niwari, Mohidinpur, Partapur Interchange, Subharti, and Kankarkheda flyover. In addition, flowers were showered from the police line in Baghpat to the railway crossing, Barnawa police post, Galhaita village, and Puramahadev temple.
The act of showering flowers on the Kanwariyas showcases the government's support and reverence for the devotees during the sacred month of Sawan. The presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other high-ranking officials further emphasizes the significance of the Kanwar Yatra and the devotion of the participants.
