Brazil played an exciting 1-1 draw with Colombia in California on Tuesday. This result means Brazil will face Uruguay in the Copa América quarter-finals, while Colombia, finishing top of Group D with seven points, will play against Panama.

The match started with a great free-kick goal from Brazil’s Raphinha.
However, Colombia’s Daniel Muñoz scored before halftime, tying the game. Colombia remains unbeaten for 26 matches but ended their 10-match winning streak.

Colombia’s coach, Nestor Lorenzo, felt positive about the game, saying, "We played well against a tough team like Brazil."
Brazil’s defender, Marquinhos, admitted that Brazil needs to improve in big games.

The match was thrilling from the start. Vinicius Jr of Brazil got a yellow card early on, which means he will miss the next game against Uruguay. James Rodriguez from Colombia almost scored but hit the crossbar.
Soon after, Raphinha scored a fantastic free-kick for Brazil.

Colombia thought they scored again when Davinson Sanchez headed the ball into the net, but it was ruled offside after a VAR check. Brazil asked for a penalty when Vinicius Jr was tackled in the box, but the referee decided it was not a foul.

Muñoz equalized for Colombia just before halftime, making the score 1-1. The second half remained intense. Raphinha nearly scored another free-kick, and Colombia’s Rafael Borre missed a close-range shot. Colombia’s goalkeeper, Camilo Vargas, made a crucial save in the final moments to stop Brazil’s Andreas Pereira from scoring.

Costa Rica started strong with goals from Francisco Calvo and Josimar Alcocer in the first seven minutes. Paraguay’s Ramon Sosa scored in the second half, but Costa Rica held on to win the match. However, Costa Rica needed a big goal difference to advance, which they didn’t achieve.

Paraguay’s coach, Daniel Garnero, called it a bad tournament for his team as they lost all their group matches, the first time since 1925.

Now, Brazil looks forward to facing Uruguay in the quarter-finals, promising another thrilling match in the Copa América.
