Cristiano Ronaldo's search for a trophy with Al Nassr continues as his side lost 2-1 against their biggest rivals, Al Hilal, in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup. Things went from bad to worse for the Portuguese striker when he was shown red after elbowing an opponent just 4 minutes before the end of normal time. His frustration was understandable because his side was trailing 2-0 against a team that is 12 points above them on the league table.

Cristiano Ronaldo was caught in a video making a punching gesture, which further reflects his annoyance. The Super Cup exit means that Ronaldo will finish the season trophyless, as his team is already out of the AFC Asian Champions League and the domestic cup. They sit 12 points behind the league leaders, Al Hilal, which made this loss against them even more bitter.

Cristiano Ronaldo is doing phenomenally on an individual level, as he's the top scorer with 29 goals and the second-best goal-provider with 10 assists to his name in the Saudi Pro League. But he will be bothered by the lack of silverware in recent years. Talking about the match, Al Hilal were the favorites for this one because they are having an extraordinary season, and they continued their fine form with this outing as well.

Al Hilal opened the scoring in the 62nd minute when Salem Al-Dawsari slotted the ball in the back of the net after a quick break. Malcon doubled the lead just 10 minutes later with a fine header when he was left unmarked in the box. Sadio Mane, the ex-Liverpool winger, pulled one back for Al Nassr in extra time, but it was way too late by then.

Al Hilal, who is the record winner of this tournament, will look to add another title to their collection when they face Al Ittihad, who won against Al Wehda in the other semi-finals. Al Ittihad has some amazing players like Karim Benzema and Ngolo Kante, so it will be a great match between these two Saudi giants.

Al Nassr, on the other hand, will be looking to end this disappointing season on a positive note, but they might struggle in the next few matches as their star player will be suspended. Cristiano Ronaldo will miss at least one game due to his red card, and fans will be waiting for him to come back and show his usual magic to them once again.
