DTC Pensioners Protest At CM's Residence Over 3-Month Pension Denial: MP Ramesh Bidhuri
DTC Pensioners Protest At CM's Residence

Member of Parliament Mr. Ramesh Bidhuri recently spoke at a protest outside the Chief Minister's residence regarding the non-payment of pensions to retired employees of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) for the past three months. The demonstration saw participation from State BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary Sandeep Sahrawat and retired DTC employees.

During his address, Mr. Ramesh Bidhuri criticized the government led by Arvind Kejriwal, stating that it has turned not only the DTC but all government departments in Delhi into hubs of corruption over the past eight years. He highlighted the discontent among employees of various departments due to the prolonged non-payment of salaries. Mr. Bidhuri emphasized that if the salaries of the 21,000 retired DTC pensioners for the last three months are not released within the next seven days, a large-scale protest will be organized by the pensioners against the Kejriwal government, with the support of BJP workers.

Furthermore, Mr. Bidhuri accused Arvind Kejriwal of failing to fulfill his pre-election promises. He mentioned that despite Kejriwal's initial claim that Delhi requires 11,000 buses, not a single bus has been procured in the eight years since he assumed power. Currently, only 3,800 buses operate on Delhi's roads, whereas there were approximately 6,500 DTC buses when Kejriwal first came to office.

Mr. Bidhuri further criticized the deteriorating state of DTC buses, stating that they often experience malfunctions and even catch fire while in operation. As a result, commuters are forced to wait for hours at bus stops for unreliable services. Mr. Bidhuri criticized Kejriwal for making false promises and misleading the people of Delhi instead of taking effective action to address these issues.

In summary, Mr. Ramesh Bidhuri's address at the protest highlighted the grievances of retired DTC employees regarding the non-payment of pensions. He criticized the Kejriwal government for alleged corruption and failure to deliver on promises, including the procurement of buses and ensuring the safety and reliability of the DTC services.
