Electric Vehicle Subsidies Now Accessible Through Yogi Govt's Portal For Easy Claims
Lucknow: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a significant step towards promoting electric vehicles (EVs) in the state by launching the upevsubsidy.in portal. The portal aims to facilitate the application and distribution process of EV subsidies for eligible customers who purchased electric vehicles after October 14, 2022.
To avail of the subsidy, eligible applicants must apply through the upevsubsidy.in web portal. The subsidy incentive scheme, part of the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022, will be effective from October 14, 2022, to October 13, 2023. The initiative allows both individual buyers and aggregators or fleet operators to claim subsidies. An individual buyer can avail of the subsidy on a single EV purchase, while aggregators can claim subsidies for up to 10 vehicles across different segments.
The application process involves generating a login ID and password on the subsidy portal and entering the vehicle registration number. The portal will automatically populate relevant vehicle details, and the applicant must provide any additional required information, including bank details for subsidy transfer. The applicant's photograph and signature uploaded during vehicle registration should match those on the portal. Bank account verification is mandatory, and the account must be in the applicant's name.

The subsidy amount will be transferred to the applicant's bank account within three working days after the successful completion of the verification process.
The Subsidy Rates Vary According To Vehicle Classes:
- Two-wheeler EVs: Rs 5,000 per vehicle for the first two lakh purchases, not exceeding 15 percent of the ex-factory cost.
- Four-wheeler EVs: Rs 1 lakh per vehicle for 25,000 earlier purchases, not exceeding 15 percent of the ex-factory cost.
- Non-government e-buses: Rs 20 lakh per vehicle for the initial 400 purchases, up to 15 percent of the ex-factory cost.
- E-goods carriers: Rs 1 lakh per vehicle for the first 1000 purchases, not exceeding 10 percent of the factory cost.
