Netflix has unveiled the gripping trailer for the sizzling erotic thriller, "Fair Play," a $20 million acquisition from this year's Sundance Film Festival, marking one of the event's most significant deals. The film stars the dynamic duo of Phoebe Dynevor from "Bridgerton" and Alden Ehrenreich, known for his role in "Oppenheimer." Set in a cutthroat financial firm, the narrative delves into the intricate dynamics of a power-hungry couple vying for supremacy. Making her directorial debut, Chloe Domont, previously involved with HBO's "Ballers" and Showtime's "Billions," helms the project.
The cast also includes Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, and Sebastian De Souza, while a fierce bidding war erupted among top distributors after the movie's premiere, with Searchlight and Neon in the fray.
The plot follows Emily (Dynevor) and Luke (Ehrenreich), lovers turned rivals when an enticing promotion emerges at the ruthless financial company. As their relationship takes a sinister turn amidst shifting power dynamics, the couple confronts the steep cost of success and the unsettling boundaries of ambition. Notably, "Fair Play" garnered glowing praise from Variety's chief film critic Owen Gleiberman at Sundance, commending its insights into the post.

Riding high on its Sundance success, Netflix plans a theatrical release on September 29 in select locations, followed by its streaming debut on October 13.
