Golden Pagoda Marathon 2025 Announced: Celebrating Namsai’s Beauty, Culture & Fitness On 9th February
In the crisp winter of Delhi, the Press Club of India buzzed with anticipation as the inaugural Golden Pagoda Marathon 2025 was announced. Scheduled for Sunday, 9th February 2025, this scenic marathon invites participants to experience the charm of Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. The official event jersey was unveiled in the presence of Shri Ninong Ering, Honourable MLA, and Shri Abu Tayeng, IAS, Secretary of Sports & Youth Affairs.
This year’s theme, “Marathon & Namsai Tourism,” celebrates the pristine beauty and vibrant cultural heritage of the region. The marathon’s start and finish lines are set against the backdrop of the iconic Golden Pagoda, a Thai-inspired architectural gem symbolizing Namsai’s cultural legacy.
The marathon offers a flat, single-loop route with ideal weather conditions of 20°C, making it perfect for Indian and international runners.
Shri Ninong Ering highlighted the event’s celebration of tribal wisdom and Arunachal’s rich traditions, while Shri Abu Tayeng emphasized its blend of adventure, culture, and sustainability.
Designed to showcase Arunachal’s unique identity, the event integrates traditional performances, local cuisine, and eco-conscious practices. It also aims to boost eco-tourism through activities like kayaking and bamboo rafting.
