Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro All Set For Major Camera Upgrades
Google's highly anticipated Pixel 8 series is rumored to consist of two phones: the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. While an official announcement is yet to be made, speculations are buzzing around the expected features that could be packed into the upcoming smartphones. According to reports, both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro might receive new sensors and enhanced camera hardware, promising significant improvements in photography capabilities.
One of the standout features anticipated for the Pixel 8 series is the implementation of the Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor, an upgrade from the previous ISOCELL GN1 sensor. The GN2 sensor boasts a larger size, enabling it to capture 35 percent more light than its predecessor. This enhancement is expected to result in improved low-light performance. Furthermore, the GN2 sensor supports 8K video recording at 30 frames per second, showcasing Google's focus on high-quality video capabilities.
In terms of camera upgrades, the Pixel 8 Pro is likely to feature a shift from the current 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor to the 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor found in the Pixel 7a. This larger 64MP sensor aims to enhance the ultrawide camera's image quality, delivering more detailed and vibrant shots. These include an adaptive torch feature, which dynamically adjusts the flash strength based on the scene, ensuring well-exposed photos in different lighting conditions. The segmentation AWB (Auto White Balance) is another addition that divides the screen into multiple sections, allowing for selective processing to achieve optimal color accuracy.
