India Register A Six Run Win Pakistan In Another T20 World Cup Classic
The race to win the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup is on and India is emerging as a big favorite under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
India played Pakistan in their second game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. India started their tournament with a massive win over Ireland while Pakistan were coming into this game after loosing against the United States Of America in their opening match. The game took place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York which is known for its difficult batting conditions. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Defending a total has been a problem for India as seen recently in the final of 2023 World Cup final against Australia.
India started their innings with their two biggest batting weapons, Captain Rohit Sharma and Formal Captain Virat Kohli. Things seemed bright for India when Rohit Sharma scored a massive six in the first over, but it went south very quickly for the team in blue.

India lost Virat Kohli in the second over by a score of 4, and Rohit Sharma was sent back to the pavilion just seven balls later as well. After the veterans departed, all the responsibility was on the shoulders of Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant to steady the ship and give India some momentum. Rishabh Pant was very lucky on three separate occasions, but still, his approach paid off as India was getting back on track.

India lost Axar Patel in the 8th over, and after that, their whole middle order collapsed, and they were all out at 119 without even playing their complete 20 overs. Things were looking worse when Pakistan started the chase very well. Despite losing Babar Azam early, Pakistan looked to be in complete control. It was only when Axar Patel dismissed Usman Khan that India found some hope back in the game.
Jasprit Bumrah was as effective as ever and he played a massive role in securing this big win for Team India. In his 4 overs, he gave away only 14 runs and picked three big wickets that pushed Pakistan to the backfoot. Hardik Pandya also played a big role with the bowl in restricting Pakistan from reaching the target.
In the end, India won by six runs, and Jasprit Bumrah was given the Man of the Match award. The race to win the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup is on and India is emerging as a big favorite under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
