IndianOil's UPSO-2 Celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada Promoting Cleanliness Green Initiatives

IndianOil Corporation Ltd, UPSO-II, NOIDA, under the leadership of Mr. Shyam Bohra, Executive Director, and State Head, celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st to 15th July 2023, in line with the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The event commenced with a swachhta pledge administered by Mr. Sailesh Kumar, Assistant Director of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), accompanied by Mr. Bohra.

To mark the occasion and raise awareness about cleanliness, Mr. Sailesh Kumar and Mr. Bohra jointly flagged off the Swachhta Rath. This initiative aimed to spread the message of cleanliness across the regions of Uttarakhand and the Western Part of Uttar Pradesh. Various Swachhta activities were organized throughout the region to promote a clean and green India.

UPSO-II conducted cleanliness drives and sustainable initiatives, including planting saplings to promote greenery. To raise awareness, they employed the world's oldest form of theatre, "Nukkad Natak." The distribution of saplings to the general public encouraged them to take part in the mission by planting trees themselves. Moreover, UPSO-II distributed jute bags as an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic, fostering a sustainable future.

The organization also took measures to address hygiene and health concerns. They distributed essential items like bathing soap, masks, sanitizers, and drinking water to the public, emphasizing the significance of personal hygiene and health safety.

In addition to promoting cleanliness, UPSO-II conducted informative talks on "health & hygiene" for females and "climate change & mitigation strategy by a common man." These discussions aimed to educate and empower the community on these crucial subjects.

By actively pursuing the vision of a Clean India, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, UPSO-II is playing a pivotal role in achieving the core value of Indian Oil, which is "Nation First." Through their continuous efforts, UPSO-II strives to encourage and educate people to contribute to building a Clean and Green India, aligned with the honorable Prime Minister's vision.
