Kanpur Files Documentary Set To Unveil On November 26, Spotlighting 1984 Sikh Genocide Aftermath
Kanpur Files

Global Middas Capital (GMC), in collaboration with Global Middas Foundation (GMF), is poised to release the documentary 'Kanpur Files' on November 26, 2023. This production sheds light on the harrowing real-life events of 127 Sikhs who faced a brutal massacre in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh (UP), in 1984, following the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Produced by S. Inder Preet Singh, the documentary spans one hour and 25 minutes, meticulously detailing the premeditated and coordinated mass killings, looting, and violence against Sikhs in Kanpur during 1984. The film promises a global audience a comprehensive narrative backed by facts, evidence, legal trials, the challenges in investigations, and the ongoing struggles faced by witnesses and victims. 'The Kanpur Files' will be released on the GMF and SADDA KHIRDA PUNJAB YouTube channels.

S. Inder Preet Singh emphasizes the unfortunate nature of the incident and expresses regret that, even after decades, no action has been taken against the culprits. The documentary exposes the mastermind behind the massacre, who is still at large. Singh highlights that this detailed coverage spans the entire 39-year journey from 1984 to the present, a first of its kind in documenting the aftermath of this tragic event.

The documentary aims to provide a foundation for those advocating for democratic rights, civil liberties, and human rights to pursue justice for the victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide at the United Nations (UN). Singh notes that the film includes interviews, documents, and the painful struggle experienced by victims, witnesses, S. Kuldip Singh Bhogal (President of the All India Riot Victims Relief Committee, 1984), and advocates Prasoon Kumar and Gurbaksh Singh, Supreme Court lawyers.

Previously, Global Middas Capital released a detailed three-hour documentary on the GMF YouTube channel on October 30, 2022, titled "1984 - Genocide of Sikhs, Crime Against Humanity." This earlier production delves into the events of the 1984 Delhi riots and Bokaro, providing insights into the rehabilitation of witnesses and victims over 38 years since the genocide. 'Kanpur Files' extends this exploration, contributing to the ongoing pursuit of justice and remembrance for the victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide.
