Pune-based electric vehicle manufacturer Kinetic Green has introduced its latest offering, the Zulu electric scooter, aiming to make a mark in the Indian two-wheeler market. Priced at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom), the Kinetic Green Zulu seeks to redefine the brand's presence in the electric scooter segment. An interesting aspect is the company's commitment to producing the scooter entirely in India, offering it through a subscription model that includes the battery at a price of Rs 69,999.

  • The Kinetic Green Zulu sports an apron-mounted LED headlamp, complemented by a Daytime Running Light (DRL) positioned on top of the handlebar stock. The design strikes a balance between a family-oriented appeal and sporty elements, catering to a diverse user base.

  • In terms of dimensions, the Zulu measures 1,830 mm in length, 715 mm in width, and 1,135 mm in height. It boasts a wheelbase of 1,360 mm and a ground clearance of 160 mm. Weighing in at 93 kg, the scooter has a maximum load capacity of 150 kg.

  • The heart of the Zulu lies in its 2.27 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, coupled with a hub electric motor that delivers a peak power of 2.8 bhp. Kinetic Green claims an impressive range of approximately 104 kilometers on a single charge. Performance-wise, the electric scooter can reach a top speed of up to 60 km per hour.

Price and Market Competition

Priced competitively at Rs 95,000, the Kinetic Green Zulu enters the market to compete with other electric scooters like the Ola S1X+, Okinawa PraisePro, and various contenders in the growing Indian electric vehicle sector. The company plans to commence sales in early 2024, expressing ambitious expectations of selling one million electric vehicles over the next five years.

The subscription model, inclusive of the battery, makes the Zulu an attractive proposition for potential buyers, enhancing affordability and ease of ownership. As the electric scooter market continues to evolve, Kinetic Green aims to carve a significant niche with its Zulu offering, combining style, performance, and sustainability in one sleek package.
