MG Astor 2024 Review: Price, Images, Colors, Specifications & More
MG Motor India has unveiled the MG Astor 2024 with a starting price of Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), entering the competitive SUV market against rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
The MG Astor 2024 lineup features variants such as Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro. It exclusively offers petrol engine options, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit generating 110bhp and 144Nm, and a 1.3-litre turbocharged unit producing 140bhp and 220Nm. The 1.5-litre engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, while the 1.3-litre engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The SUV is equipped with a range of features, including ventilated front seats, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, and auto-dimming IRVM. The updated i-Smart 2.0 infotainment system offers advanced user interface functionality, providing over 80 connected features.

Among the notable i-Smart 2.0 features is the Jio voice recognition system, enabling advanced voice commands for weather, cricket updates, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news, and knowledge. The advanced UI includes widget customization on the home screen with multiple pages and a unique birthday wish feature on the head unit that allows date customization through the i-Smart mobile app.

Notably, MG Astor claims the title of the first SUV in India to feature a personal AI assistant and 14 autonomous Level 2 features, powered by mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera. These capabilities enable advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) features, contributing to enhanced safety on the road. MG Astor offers a comprehensive safety package with 49 safety features. The Astor 2024 lineup aims to provide a combination of features, design, and value propositions that appeal to car buyers in the competitive SUV segment.
