Mittran Da Challeya Truck Ni Movie Review: Amrinder Gill's Trio Will Make You Laugh
Mittran Da Challeya Truck Ni is the much awaited Punjabi film featuring starring Amrinder Gill, Sunanda Sharma, and Sayani Gupta. Directed and written by Rakesh Dhawan, the film has already made much noise primarily because of the promising mixture of romance, comedy, and family drama. With ace performances from the leading trio, it is turning out to be another potential blockbuster hit in Punjabi cinema.
Amrinder Gill plays the character Satta, a man who falls so irrevocably in love with Sunanda as portrayed by Sunanda Sharma. It takes an unexpected turn when Satta marries a Kolkata girl, Sayani Gupta. The movie is based on the circumstances of this marriage and their relationship and emotional struggles. Hardeep Gill appears in Satta's father, bringing old-age family dynamics to the film, thereby giving another dimension to the narration. With these three protagonists, the chemistry is bound to take the audience on an emotional rollercoaster ride, laced with warmth and light moments. The supporting cast consisting of Sayaji Shinde, Jarnail Singh, Sukhi Chahal, and more, add depth to the narration by making the story line even richer.
One of the biggest strengths of the film is that it has cast, and Amrinder Gill proves versatility when coupled with perfect comedy sense and emotional depth. Sunanda Sharma brings in a fresh feel to the character; Sayani Gupta infuses a cultural dimension that enriches the whole story. Well-crafted dialogues, with a strong narrative arc, and direction and writing by Rakesh Dhawan are praise-worthy. The emotional beats of the movie along with its comedic set pieces appear to be well-balanced and will probably resonate most with the audience.
Cons include the feeling that supporting characters are not fleshed out as much or don't get the same screen space.
All in all, "Mittran Da Challeya Truck Ni" looks to be the perfect cocktail of a real entrancing and entertaining Punjabi drama. From stellar performances to a well-crafted storyline and a great dosage of romance, comedy, and family emotions, it is yet to be seen in Punjab's cinema. Fans of Amrinder Gill and Punjabi cinema, in general, will find much to enjoy in this heartfelt and funny film.
