Mahendra Singh Dhoni has entertained fans on many occasions this season already with his massive hits, but he made the headlines for all the wrong reasons in CSK's clash against the Punjab Kings in Dharamshala. MS Dhoni shocked the whole world when he came out to bat at No. 9, even below Mitchell Santner and Shardul Thakur. But all the noise turned into a silence of shock as Thala was dismissed on his very first ball. Harshal Patel took out Thakur with a brilliant yorker on the previous ball, and that exact same delivery caught MS Dhoni lacking as well as his stumps being blasted away.

Some CSK fans were shocked by the brilliance of the delivery, while others were devastated as they could not witness MS Dhoni's power-packed hitting. The whole thing of MS Dhoni walking out to bat at No. 9 and getting out on his very first ball has sparked very funny memes over the internet.
The Chennai Super Kings were restricted to a total of just 167 runs, which seems very low when compared to the massive scores we have seen in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad were the MVPs of Chennai's innings as they scored 43 and 32 runs, respectively, which helped CSK put up a fighting total. However, it looked like the Punjab Kings would get the job done as they were in their home stadium, but in the end, that was not the case at all. Tushar Deshpande gave the momentum to CSK as he took two massive wickets in just the second over of the inning, which meant that PBKS wouldn't be able to capitalize on the advantage that was given to the batting side in the powerplay.

Ravindra Jadeja had a brilliant day with the ball as well. He ended the match with a score of 3/20. He dismissed Jitesh Sharma, PBKS's opener Prabhsimran Singh, and their captain Sam Curran as well. This magical spell played an instrumental role in restricting the Punjab Kings to a total of 139/9, and CSK won the game by 28 runs.
