Narendra Modi Is Set To Become The Prime Minister As NDA Barely Scrapped Past The Majority Mark

After the conclusion of the biggest election in history, Narendra Modi is set to retain his position as the Prime Minister of India for the second consecutive time. Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India for the very first time in 2014. It is being reported that Narendra Modi will take his oath for the third time on June 8th, and this will see him become the only Prime Minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to become a third-term leader.
Narendra Modi met President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi to submit his resignation and that of his cabinet. He was then requested to continue in his role until the swearing-in. The Bhartiya Janta Party underperformed in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in comparison to 2014 and 2019. The party only won 240 seats this time around and was not even able to cross the 272-majority mark on its own. This outcome means that they will now have to depend on seats won by the other members of the NDA to secure a third term.
Narendra Modi contested from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi and won against Ajay Rai from Congress by more than 1 lakh votes to become a three-time MP from the temple town. While addressing the crowd at the Delhi headquarters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of India for placing their faith in the NDA for the third consecutive time. "I bow to the people for this affection and assure them we will continue the good work done in the last decade to keep fulfilling aspirations," Modi ji stated.

The opposition of the Congress-led India bloc. exceeded all expectations, secured a total of 232 seats, and made life difficult for the Bhartiya Janta Party.
It looks all set for Modi to retain his position as Prime Minister of India, but there can be some last-minute twists as well if Congress manages to get more members for its alliance.
