NDMC Greenlit Citizen-Centric & Infrastructure Proposals, Fostering Community Welfare And Development In Its Council Meeting

In its recent Council meeting, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), chaired by Shri Amit Yadav and attended by Vice-Chairperson Shri Satish Upadhyay and other members, deliberated and approved several citizen-centric and infrastructure-related proposals.

One of the key decisions was the extension of existing security contracts for Security Services/Arrangements. The Council resolved to extend these contracts with current agencies for an additional year, from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, maintaining the same rates, terms, and conditions.

Addressing a pressing concern, the Council also approved the resurfacing of internal roads in the R-III Division area, specifically in North West Moti Bagh. Residents and the Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) had expressed their need for improved road quality. The road last resurfaced in 2013, had deteriorated significantly, with erosion and potholes. The Council sanctioned Rs.6,00,69,000/- for the resurfacing project.

Furthermore, the Council granted approval for the E-Tender/Request for Proposal (RFP) for the allotment of 39 parking sites within the NDMC jurisdiction. These sites, currently managed by NDMC staff, will be auctioned for a nine-month period, extendable for an additional three months, on a monthly license fee basis.

In addressing the ongoing deployment of Communication Cellular Mobile Towers on Wheels (CoWs) in the NDMC area, the Council made two significant decisions. Firstly, they extended the current concessioner agreement for existing CoWs towers with Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. and Indus Towers Ltd. until March 31, 2024, or until the finalization of the NDMC Right of Way (RoW) Policy, whichever comes earlier. Secondly, the Council approved the uploading of the draft NDMC RoW Policy in the public domain, inviting comments from stakeholders via email at eespndmc@gmail.com.

These decisions collectively reflect the NDMC's commitment to enhancing citizen services, addressing infrastructure needs, and ensuring transparent policies for the benefit of the community.
