National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, also known as NEET is one of the biggest exams that is conducted in India in 2024 it was attempted by almost 24 lakh students. This test is conducted for medical aspirants, allowing them to seek admission to medical courses across different medical institutes in India. This exam is a stepping stone for students who want to work in the medical field but this year, NEET has sparked controversy all over the internet. The controversy is so big that the Supreme Court has asked for its cancellation.

The NEET controversy has taken a political turn as well as the leader of Congress, Mr. Rahul Gandhi has questioned the lack of action from the BJP on this topic and stated that he will be the voice of the youth in the parliament. "The youth have expressed confidence in INDIA - INDIA will not allow their voice to be suppressed," said Rahul Gandhi.

The Supreme Court has demanded answers for these unusual outcomes. The court has also requested the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct a fresh exam on the grounds of ‘paper leak’ and other ‘malpractices’.

The result of NEET was supposed to be declared on June 4th but it was declared 10 days earlier on June 4th. The news of paper leaks was coming in when the exam was being conducted back in May but since the release of its result, many unusual things have come up regarding NEET.

One of the biggest reasons behind this controversial result is that 67 students have scored the perfect 720 marks and 6 out of these 720 students were from the same centre. Another major factor behind this uproar is that two students scored 718 and 719 marks respectively which is not possible considering the marking scheme of NEET. It rewards you with 4 marks for a correct answer and deducts a single mark for any wrong answer.
