Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visionary project, the 'Noida International Greenfield Airport, Jewar,' is poised to receive unparalleled connectivity through direct Metro, high-speed Rapid Rail, and road networks. In a comprehensive review meeting with officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), Northern Railway, North Central Railway, and state government representatives, the Chief Minister highlighted the transformative developments in the Jewar region.

Once plagued by high crime rates, Jewar has undergone a remarkable transformation, shifting from incidents of daylight snatching and robbery to gaining prominence due to the impending international airport. Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the strategic significance of Jewar Airport, predicting it to become a major air cargo hub. He also revealed plans for a proposed Film City near Jewar Airport, anticipating the area to be the most developed in the National Capital Region (NCR) in the coming years.

Discussing the airport's potential, Adityanath disclosed estimates projecting the service of 65 lakh passengers in 2024-25, with expectations to surge to 7 crore passengers annually by 2042-43. To ensure seamless connectivity with the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, the Chief Minister advocated exploring options such as rapid rail and metro services. He urged the preparation of a proposal in collaboration with the Government of India and NCRTC, with the state government pledging full support.

In response to the connectivity needs, railway officials presented plans for a new rail line from Chola to Rundhi, covering approximately 98 kilometers, aimed at enhancing accessibility to Jewar Airport. Progress on this initiative is underway at the Railway Board level.

The Chief Minister issued directives to Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Industrial Development Authorities to allocate land promptly. Emphasizing public security and convenience, Adityanath instructed the establishment of new police stations, fire stations, drainage systems, and essential infrastructure at Jewar Airport. The concerted efforts underscore the commitment to making Jewar a beacon of progress and connectivity in the NCR, aligning with the Chief Minister's transformative vision for Uttar Pradesh.
