PM Modi Discusses Partnership Enhancement With UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
During his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, setting the tone for discussions aimed at enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
The visit saw the exchange of various agreements, signaling a commitment to deepen bilateral ties. Among these were a Bilateral Investment Treaty and a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which are expected to pave the way for increased investments between India and the UAE. Additionally, both countries emphasized cooperation in sectors such as energy, digital infrastructure, cultural preservation, and finance, through the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements.

One notable agreement was the UAE's launch of the JAYWAN domestic card, modeled after India's RuPay credit and debit card stack. This initiative is poised to facilitate further financial cooperation between the two nations and strengthen economic ties.
Discussions during the visit also focused on strengthening energy partnerships. India extended its commitment to long-term contracts for liquefied natural gas (LNG) with the UAE, highlighting the importance of energy security and collaboration in this vital sector.

Furthermore, agreements between RITES Limited and Abu Dhabi Ports Company, as well as the Gujarat Maritime Board and Abu Dhabi Ports Company, were hailed as significant steps toward enhancing port infrastructure and connectivity between India and the UAE. These agreements underscore the mutual commitment to fostering trade and economic growth through improved logistics and transportation networks.
