During the event, Modi also took part in the "Global Aarti," a synchronized ritual observed across more than 1,200 temples worldwide under the auspices of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS). Prior to the inauguration, Modi engaged with representatives from various faiths who contributed to the temple's construction, symbolizing inclusivity and unity.
The temple's construction adheres to ancient architectural principles delineated in Hindu scriptures, with a meticulous fusion of traditional methods and contemporary technologies. Notably, the absence of metal in its construction and the utilization of fly ash in the foundation reflect a commitment to sustainability, significantly reducing the temple's carbon footprint. Moreover, the incorporation of over 300 high-tech sensors throughout the temple complex facilitates real-time monitoring of temperature, pressure, and seismic activity, enabling valuable research opportunities.
Comprising 18 lakh bricks, requiring seven lakh man-hours of labor, and utilizing 1.8 lakh cubic meters of sandstone sourced directly from Rajasthan, the temple embodies the Nagara style of architecture reminiscent of the recently inaugurated Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The meticulous craftsmanship extends to the sourcing of materials, with sandstone pieces meticulously carved in Rajasthan before being transported to Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Italian marble underwent carving in India before being imported for the temple's interior embellishments.
