PM Modi To Inaugurate Flats, Lay Foundation Stones For Key Development Projects In Delhi
Through the initiative, the living conditions of JJ cluster residents will improve significantly because of better housing with modern facilities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit newly constructed flats under the in-situ slum rehabilitation project at Swabhiman Apartments in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar tomorrow, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Later, at around 12:45 PM, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several developmental projects in Delhi.
The visit will also witness the Prime Minister inaugurating 1,675 newly constructed flats for the residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters and handing over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments. This is the DDA's second successful in-situ slum rehabilitation project. Through the initiative, the living conditions of JJ cluster residents will improve significantly because of better housing with modern facilities.

So, for every flat costing ₹25 lakh to build, the beneficiaries pay less — ₹1.42 lakh upfront and ₹30,000 for five years of maintenance. So, this is affordable and accessible for relatively weaker economic sections with the help of quality housing.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones for two urban renewal projects: the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar and general pool residential accommodation type-II quarters at Sarojini Nagar. This will prove that the government is dedicated to urban renewal and improving infrastructure in Delhi.
