In a transformative stride towards educational excellence and infrastructural development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the inauguration of the modernization project for PM Shri Schools, allocating a substantial sum of Rs 404 crore. Speaking at the event held at Lok Bhavan, he underscored the pivotal role played by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in safeguarding the nation's 140 crore population during the global challenges posed by COVID.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the introduction of the new education policy as a foundational initiative, propelling the vision of a 'new India.' The PM SHRI School Scheme, a critical component of this vision, aims to upgrade 928 schools with classes from the first grade to the 12th grade in the first phase, with an investment of Rs 404 crore. This substantial investment reflects the government's commitment to enhancing the educational landscape and ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.

Addressing the neglect of educational facilities in the state by previous administrations, the CM highlighted the transformation brought about since 2017. Operation Kayakalp, an initiative to upgrade basic schools, has seen remarkable success, with 96 percent of basic schools receiving enhancements such as additional classes, improved facilities, and the introduction of smart classes.

In tandem with this, the government has addressed the shortage of teachers by recruiting 1.25 lakh educators. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the innovative nature of the PM Shri School Scheme, designed to integrate technology into basic education and connect children with modern learning tools.

The CM also lauded the success of the School Chalo Abhiyan, an initiative aimed at preventing dropouts, resulting in a substantial increase of 40 lakh children attending schools. The government's proactive approach includes disbursing funds through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for children's essentials like bags, books, sweaters, and shoes.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan commended the Uttar Pradesh government for effectively implementing national schemes and acknowledged the significant positive changes in government schools. He emphasized the role of Uttar Pradesh in the concept of 'Viksit Bharat,' stating that without the state's contribution, the vision of a developed India would be incomplete.

In conclusion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that through the National Education Policy, India is set to regain global leadership in education. Uttar Pradesh, with its 5 crore students, will play a crucial role in achieving this vision and elevating the state and the country to new heights through various educational initiatives. The state's commitment to education extends beyond the theoretical curriculum, encompassing skill development, 'one district one product,' and other programs for holistic development.
