PM SVANidhi Scheme In UP: Leading In The Country With 22.15 Lakh Beneficiaries, Promoting Financial Inclusion
The Uttar Pradesh government has achieved an exceptional level of success in implementing both state and central welfare schemes, ensuring that their benefits reach a broad spectrum of society. The state has taken the lead in effectively extending the advantages of eight central government schemes to its citizens through the SVANidhi se Samriddhi Yojana.
One of the standout accomplishments in Uttar Pradesh is its remarkable performance in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Yojana, a central government initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to street vendors who faced unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This success can be attributed to the effective monitoring and leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under his guidance, more than 22 lakh street vendors and their families have benefited from the eight central schemes, a record achievement. These schemes were distributed in three phases to the Municipal Corporation, Municipality, and Nagar Panchayats, following the directives of the Central Government.

Dr. Anil Kumar, the Director of the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), emphasized the Chief Minister's commitment to ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all segments of the state's population, without any discrimination based on religion or caste. He highlighted that CM Yogi personally monitors and conducts review meetings to ensure the equitable distribution of welfare scheme benefits.
As a result of these efforts, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the nationwide leader in implementing all eight central schemes related to the PM SVANidhi Yojana. The state has successfully provided loans to over 12 lakh beneficiaries in the first phase, 3.84 lakh beneficiaries in the second phase, and 29,908 beneficiaries in the third phase. Over 16.23 lakh beneficiaries have received loans totaling approximately Rs 2,127.11 crore, with a repayment rate of 85.64 percent.
The PM SVANidhi scheme offers loans in three phases, with the first installment being Rs 10,000, the second at Rs 20,000, and the third at Rs 50,000. Under this scheme, vendors and their families also benefit from eight central schemes, including PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Account, One Nation One Ration Card, Janani Suraksha Yojana, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, PM-SYM, and registration under the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) scheme.
In the first phase, the benefits of these schemes were provided to a total of 17,65,975 people, 3,62,313 in the second phase, and 87,503 in the third phase. To date, 22,15,791 people in the state have benefited from these eight central schemes, constituting 76.86 percent of the total number.
Uttar Pradesh has also excelled in digital transactions, with 6,57,572 active digital vendors, accounting for 56.4 percent of the total. These digital transactions have been conducted a total of 198.78 crore times. The state's achievement is not only significant in terms of numbers but also in promoting financial inclusion and digital literacy among street vendors.
