Poco M6 Pro 5G Review: Price, Specifications, Features & More
Poco, Xiaomi's sub-brand, has introduced the Poco M6 Pro 5G, a budget-friendly smartphone offering compelling features at a starting price of just Rs 9,999. This review is based on the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant in the sleek Power Black color.
Design and Build: The Poco M6 Pro 5G sports a classic Poco design with a glossy glass back that exudes a premium feel but is prone to fingerprints. The device features a dual-camera setup and an LED light within a rectangular block on the rear. Its sturdy metallic frame provides a comfortable grip, with a weight of 199 grams and a thickness of 8.17mm, making it manageable in hand.
Display: The smartphone boasts a 6.79-inch IPS LCD display with a punch-hole notch housing the selfie camera. Offering a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 410 units, the screen provides an enjoyable content consumption experience and supports Widevine L1 certification for HD streaming. However, it may struggle under direct sunlight. The single speaker at the bottom delivers decent sound quality.
Performance and Software: Under the hood, the Poco M6 Pro 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance. Activities such as social media browsing, article reading, and light gaming are handled effortlessly. It runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, offering extensive customization options but comes with some pre-installed bloatware.
Battery and Charging: The device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging, although it ships with a 22.5W charger. Charging from 0 to 100 percent takes over 2 hours, which could be improved for user convenience.
Camera: The Poco M6 Pro 5G features a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. In well-lit conditions, the primary camera captures decent images with good details. However, low-light performance could be better. The 8MP front-facing camera produces natural-looking selfies and performs fairly well overall.

Verdict: With an attractive starting price and 5G capabilities, the Poco M6 Pro 5G offers a compelling budget option. It excels in terms of chipset and design, but users must contend with slower charging and bloatware. Despite these drawbacks, it represents excellent value for money, making it a worthy choice for budget-conscious consumers seeking a capable smartphone.
