Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, unveiled the ambitious "Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojana" initiative, marking a significant step towards providing rooftop solar systems to one crore households. This announcement followed his return from Ayodhya, where he participated in the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple. Taking to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the Prime Minister expressed his firm commitment to the solar initiative, emphasizing that witnessing the consecration in Ayodhya had further strengthened his resolve.

In a post on X, PM Modi declared, "I have taken my first decision after returning from Ayodhya that our government will launch 'Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojna' with the aim to install rooftop solar systems in one crore houses." The accompanying images showed the Prime Minister engaging with officials in the capital to discuss the implementation of the rooftop solar scheme.

PM Modi drew a symbolic connection between the initiative and the divine energy associated with Lord Ram, stating that devotees worldwide draw inspiration from the "suryavanshi" Lord Ram's light. The initiative, he asserted, would not only alleviate the burden of electricity bills for the poor and middle classes but also contribute towards making India self-sufficient in the energy sector.

Elaborating on the significance of the decision, PM Modi wrote, "Today, on the auspicious occasion of consecration in Ayodhya, my resolution got further strengthened that the people of India should have their own solar rooftop system on the roof of their houses."

"The first decision I have taken after returning from Ayodhya is that our government will launch 'Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana' with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector," he added.

The Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojana is poised to bring about a transformative change by promoting sustainable energy practices, empowering households, and contributing to India's energy independence. The initiative aligns with the government's commitment to fostering renewable energy solutions for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
