Shree Anna Recipe Development And Consumer Awareness Program In UP, Promoting Coarse Grains
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is actively promoting millets and raising awareness about their nutritional benefits as part of the International Year of Millets celebrations. A significant event called Shri Anna Mahotsav is scheduled to take place from October 27 to 29, organized by the Agriculture Department. This event is a unique initiative aimed at engaging the public and the food industry in exploring the potential of millets.
One of the key highlights of this celebration is the Shri Anna Food Competition, which will occur on Saturday. This competition serves as a platform to inform the public about millet products and encourage their incorporation into daily diets. Millets such as millet, buckwheat, ramdana, jowar, and kodo will feature prominently in the dishes presented during this competition.
The Shri Anna Mahotsav event will involve active participation from the hotel and restaurant industry. Representatives from these establishments will have the opportunity to showcase their innovative millet-based preparations in three different categories: ready-to-eat millet products, live counters, and bakery items. These presentations will be held in Chatori Gali.

A total of 25 stalls have been selected to participate in the competition. On Sunday, the best three participants in each of the three categories will be honored and recognized for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of millets.
This initiative is a unique effort by the state government to promote millets as a healthy food option. The timing of the event, just before Krishi Kumbh 2.0, underscores its significance. The Shree Anna Food Competition serves dual purposes—encouraging the food industry to explore millet-based creations and enhancing consumer awareness about millets.
Both the Agriculture Department and the Lucknow Development Authority are collaborating in this endeavor, further demonstrating the government's commitment to Shree Anna Recipe Development and consumer awareness programs. This initiative not only celebrates the International Year of Millets but also contributes to the broader goal of promoting the consumption of millet-based products for a healthier society.
