Sky Force Movie Review: A Patriotic War Film Showcasing Bravery
The story then shifts to 1965 where Ahuja is posted at Adampur Airbase and is training young officers.
Beginning with Akshay Kumar in 2025, one high-energy film is Sky Force, a tribute to the great courage of Indian Air Force against the Indo-Pakistani war in 1965. The film is about the first and worst airstrike performed by India upon Pakistan's airbase Sargodha; it salutes the bravery of an Air Force officer who performed the mission and had attained martyrdom.
Storyline
The film begins in 1971 with Pakistan attacking an Indian airbase. Wing Commander KO Ahuja, played by Akshay Kumar, questions captured Pakistani pilot Ahmed Hussain, played by Sharad Kelkar, and finds vital information about the Sargodha attack in 1965. The story then shifts to 1965 where Ahuja is posted at Adampur Airbase and is training young officers, including Vijay, played by Veer Pahariya. Ahuja identifies his martyred brother in the form of a rebellious yet spirited officer, Vijay.
After the heavy casualties caused by the attack on a Pakistani airbase, Ahuja leads the Sky Force mission to destroy Pakistan's advanced aircraft. The mission is successful, but Vijay is nowhere to be found. The story then shifts to Ahuja's 23-year-long search for Vijay and the emotional toll it takes on his family.

Positive Points
Director Abhishek Anil Kapoor and writer Sandeep Kewlani have made a gripping film based on a true story. The screenplay maintains the suspense, action, and emotion very well. The aerial battle scenes are quite thrilling, and the cinematography of the airbase attack is just superb. Emotional moments with powerful dialogues from Akshay Kumar and apt songs bring tears and patriotism. The film is maintained well in its 125 minutes, which keeps the movie running without any hitch.
Negative Points
While the VFX work impresses in many scenes, some aerial sequences, especially at the beginning, feel underwhelming and fail to meet Hollywood standards. In addition, though the storyline of the film is strong, some war sequences could have been polished more for a broader impact.
Overall
Sky Force brings a strong combination of action, emotions, and patriotism to the fore while paying tribute to unsung heroes from the Indian Air Force. Despite minor flaws with visual effects, the engaging story and a strong cast make this a must-watch for any fan of war films.
