ICC T20 World Cup is seeing a lot of intense and close encounters but the match between South Africa and Nepal is right up there as one of the best of the tournament yet. Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl first. South Africa was a heavy favorite to win the game as they have more experience and individual talent as well.

Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock opened the inning for South Africa and it all looked good until the 4th over when the veteran Wicketkeeper of South Africa was wiped out by Dipendra Singh at the score of 10 runs. After the fall of the first wicket, Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram forged a priceless partnership of 46 runs on such a difficult pitch.

But after both the batsman got out in the 12th and the 14th over respectively, South Africa struggled to put runs on the board as they had no response to the questions that the bowling attack of Nepal was asking them.

South Africa only managed to put 115 runs on the board and that was the first signal that the game will be close. The wicketkeeper-batsman of Nepal, Aasif Sheikh turned out to be the highest run-scorer as he played a warrior-esque inning of 42 runs in 49 balls with four boundaries and a massive six.

Nepal needed 2 runs in the last two deliveries of the inning and yet they managed to lose the game. Gulshan Jha played a dot in the second last ball of the inning and he got run out in the last one. Nepal was just 2 runs away from a historic victory and this one will go down as one of the most thrilling encounters in the history of ICC T20 World Cup history.

South Africa currently sits in the top spot of Group D after 4 wins in their 4 games meanwhile Nepal are on the 4th spot with just a win in the four matches that they played.
