Chepauk must roll out its red carpet for the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they will lock horns in the final of the TATA IPL 2024. After losing against Kolkata in the first playoff by 8 wickets, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to take their revenge in the last game of the tournament. SHR beat the Rajasthan Royals in the second playoff by 36 runs to cement their place in the final. Both teams will look to win their third IPL title, as both of them have not won the prestigious tournament since 2016.

Sansu Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. Initially, it looked to be a perfect decision as Trent Boult eradicated the top order of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the powerplay. He got rid of Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Aiden Markram while conceding 45 runs in his 4-over spell. After starting the inning on the back foot, all the responsibility was on Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen to steady the ship, and they did just that.

It looked like Sunrisers Hyderabad would put on another massive total, but the hopes were short-lived as Travis Head was dismissed by Sandeep Sharma on a slow delivery. Heinrich Klaasen, on the other hand, scored a half-century and turned out to be the highest run scorer for the team, but in the end, the Rajasthan Royals were able to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 179/9 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals started the chase on a steady note, but the bowling attack of Pat Cummins's team was just too much for them. The SRH skipper took the first wicket when he dismissed Tom Kohler-Cadmore and just 4 overs later, RR lost Yashasvi Jaiswal as well, causing the collapse of the entire battling lineup.

In the end, Sunrisers Hyderabad was just a better team than Rajasthan Royals with both the bat and bowl. The final of the current Indian Premier League campaign will be played on May 26th, with the teams from Rajasthan and Kolkata fighting for the ultimate glory.
