Swati Maliwal Controversy: The New Video Of The Assault Case Goes Viral
This internal conflict within the Aam Aadmi Party has gained massive attention, and it can have an adverse effect on their 2024 Lok Sabha Elections campaign.
The assault case of Swati Maliwal got a whole lot uglier. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has criticized its own Rajya Sabha MP over a video clip from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on the day of the alleged assault. The video of Swati Maliwal arguing with security staff at the residence of Arvind Kejriwal on May 13 has gone viral, and AAP shared it as well, stating," Swati Maliwal ka sach."

The Delhi Police have stated that they have not authenticated the video yet, but this tweet from the official handle of the Aam Aadmi Party sheds light on the change in stance of the party. Previously, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that Arvind Kejriwal has taken the incident very seriously and that serious actions will be taken regarding the incident. It seemed that the party would support Swati Maliwal, but their recent tweet does not give any indication of that.
After the video was released, Swati Maliwal came out and said that the video was released "out of context." She also accused the "political hitman" of trying to save his neck by releasing this video. She said that the entire truth will be unveiled when the CCTV footage from the house of Arvind Kejriwal is released. She also questioned," Who makes a video of someone being beaten up?" in her post on X.

CCTV… — Swati Maliwal (@SwatiJaiHind) May 17, 2024

Allegedly, the incident took place on Monday when Swati Maliwal was present at the official residence of Arvind Kejriwal. Swati Maliwal accused Kejriwal's aide, Bibhav Kumar, of assaulting her, and an FIR was filed against him on Thursday. Describing the assault, Swati Maliwal stated that she was screaming, and he kept on kicking her.
This internal conflict within the Aam Aadmi Party has gained massive attention, and it can have an adverse effect on their 2024 Lok Sabha Elections campaign. The case is being studied, and further developments are awaited as the investigation is ongoing.
