Tata Nexon EV Review: Price, Images, Reviews and Specifications
Tata Nexon EV

Tata's Nexon.EV has established itself as the leading electric vehicle (EV) in the Indian market, and its 2023 update aims to further solidify its position. Previously known as the Nexon EV, this affordable yet "proper" electric car has been a resounding success, with over 50,000 units gracing Indian roads since its 2020 debut. Its 'Max' variant, featuring a more potent motor and larger battery, mitigated range anxiety, broadening its appeal.

In 2023, Tata is set to enhance the Nexon.EV experience. First, they've rebranded it to 'Nexon.EV', dropping the "Max" moniker and introducing 'Medium Range' and 'Long Range' variants. The vehicle inherits cosmetic upgrades and features from the 2023 Nexon Facelift, ensuring a modern and stylish appearance.

Under the hood, the Nexon.EV receives a Gen II Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC motor capable of reaching 16,000 rpm, delivering 143 BHP, a modest increase over the previous Max variant. The motor also boasts a broader torque curve, extending by 750 rpm, and features regenerative paddles for personalized regeneration levels.

Range anxiety is further alleviated with an ARAI-certified range of 465 km for the Long Range and 325 km for the Medium Range, a slight improvement over previous iterations. Real-world driving is estimated at around 270 km for the Long Range variant.

Notably, the Nexon.EV incorporates EV-specific features, including Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, enabling you to power various gadgets and appliances (up to 3.3 kVA), and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging, allowing you to charge another compatible EV (@ 5 kVA). Safety remains paramount, with features like 6 airbags, ESP, a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, SOS call, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and hill hold control, mirroring those found in the 2023 Nexon Facelift.

The Nexon.EV offers three trim levels: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered. Each trim is available in three standard colors: Pristine White, Daytona Grey, and Flame Red. Additionally, Creative, Fearless, and Empowered trims offer exclusive shades: 'Creative Ocean,' 'Fearless Purple,' and 'Empowered Oxide' and 'Intensi-teal' respectively.

With its impressive range, enhanced motor, and a host of modern features, the Nexon.EV's pricing remains competitive, offering Indian consumers a compelling choice in the electric vehicle market. Tata's commitment to advancing EV technology shines through in this updated model.
