Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) has taken a significant stride in India's electric vehicle (EV) evolution with the introduction of its groundbreaking Pure EV architecture, acti.ev (Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle). This innovative architecture will serve as the foundation for future products within the TPEM portfolio, with the first offering being the Punch.ev.

The acti.ev architecture, symbolizing Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle, marks a milestone in India's rapidly evolving EV market. Designed for efficiency and future adaptability, acti.ev incorporates four key layers: Powertrain, Chassis, Electrical Architecture, and Cloud Architecture.

The Powertrain layer features an optimized battery pack design with cells meeting advanced global standards, resulting in a 10% improvement in energy density. This design offers multiple range options, ranging from 300 km to 600 km, providing flexibility for various driving needs. Additionally, the architecture supports modularity in choosing the right drivetrain option, be it AWD, RWD, or FWD. With a 7.2kW to 11kW on-board charger for AC fast charging and DC fast charging up to 150kW, the Punch.ev can add approximately 100 km of range in just 10 minutes.

The Chassis layer is designed to accommodate multiple body styles while maintaining a reinforced structure compliant with future safety protocols. Maximizing cabin space and storage, acti.ev boasts a flat floor without a transmission tunnel, allowing for an added frunk (front trunk) and more space for occupants. The lower center of gravity enhances driving dynamics and handling.

The Electrical Architecture layer is future-ready and scalable, offering higher computing power and ADAS level 2 capabilities. The architecture is prepared for ADAS L2+ capabilities, ensuring elevated safety and navigation standards. 5G readiness facilitates advanced network speeds and seamless connectivity, while support for Vehicle Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Vehicle Charging (V2V) technology is included.

The Cloud Architecture layer is based on a future-ready scalable cloud architecture, promising an enhanced user experience with the in-car app suite, Arcade.ev. acti.ev is equipped with cutting-edge solutions for superior connectivity and over-the-air updates, ensuring continuous improvement of software and other features.

TPEM customers can now book the Punch.ev, the first product based on the acti.ev architecture, by visiting Tata Motors showrooms authorized for EV sales or Tata.ev stores. Online bookings are also available, requiring only a payment of ₹21,000. This introduction reflects TPEM's commitment to advancing India's EV landscape and providing a technologically advanced, future-proof driving experience.
