The Monasteries of Bodhgaya: A Cultural Amalgamation of South Asia Bodhgaya Ke Vihar - Dakshin Ashiyaee Deshon Ki Vividh Sanskrti Ke Vaahak
The much-awaited book launch will be held on December 6, 2024, at the Madan Mohan Malviya Auditorium, Hansraj College, University of Delhi, New Delhi. This event is a collaboration between the literary society of Hansraj College and the Bougainvillea Art Foundation.
The session will be launched by Mrs. Sudha Murty. Mrs. Vanathi Srinivasan will chair the session. The Guest of Honour is Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, a historian, mass communication expert and also an accomplished author. He has also worked in several academic and administrative capacities including the founder of many renowned journalism universities.
KK Mohammed, an archaeologist of repute and Padma awardee, will also be present at the event to share his views on the importance of cultural documentation. The program will be conducted by Dr. Prabhansu Ojha, Assistant Professor, Hindi Department, and the guests of honor will be welcomed by Professor (Dr) Rama, Principal of Hansraj College.
The book encapsulates cultural documentation across 41 monasteries in Bodhgaya, an initiative to preserve India's rich heritage and make it accessible to all. As part of this initiative, the e-book in English and Hindi will be available for free download on the website of the Bougainvillea Art Foundation.
This is a joint effort to promote Indian culture and history, and it would offer very useful resources to the students and scholars of this country. We would request everyone to join in celebration of this great step towards cultural conservation.
