The second part of The Night Manager falls short in delivering a captivating narrative, as it struggles with several shortcomings. Kaveri's character, portrayed by the ravishing Tillotama Shome, is reduced to a mere titillating factor, devoid of significant depth or exploration. Her secret life, hinted at in the first part, remains unexplored, leaving her character lacking vulnerability. Additionally, her track with Shaan (played by Saswata Chatterjee) is underdeveloped, leaving both actors with little substance to work with.

The highlight of this installment remains the constant clashes and double-crossing between Aditya and Anil, showcasing their wavering moral compasses. While viewers may find themselves rooting for Shelly (played by Sobhita Dhulipala), Shaan's inner turmoil and human struggles, present in the first part, are noticeably absent. However, Lipika Saikia Rao, portrayed by Tillotama Shome, stands out with her cinematic character arc, bringing an effortless and cataclysmic humor that captures attention. Her portrayal of a rare human agent, navigating the grime and red-tapism of the spy world, is a refreshing departure from the typical spy archetype.

Saswata Chatterjee's character, BJ, who played Shelly's friend and ally in the first part, is unfortunately sidelined in this installment. The potential tension and animosity between BJ and Shelly remain unexplored, and their subplot could have added nuance to the overall plot. The writing, seemingly lacking a two-part approach, fails to capitalize on the characters' potential growth and interplay.

While some may question the rationality of releasing the second part of The Night Manager after a four-month gap, it is evident that the slow-poison treatment and style misfires in this installment. The overall viewing experience leaves viewers questioning whether a sequel would be a good idea. However, if a sequel were to happen, it would be intriguing to witness Kaveri's character with a solid arc and even more captivating would be a crossover between Shaan Sengupta and Jonathan Pine, as well as Lipika Saikia Rao and Angela Burr engaging in their own intriguing alliance.

In conclusion, The Night Manager's second part fails to live up to expectations, hindered by underdeveloped characters, missed opportunities for exploration, and a disjointed writing approach.
