TiE Chandigarh's 20th General Meeting Awards Entrepreneurs With Chapter Awards
TiE Chandigarh recently hosted its 20th Annual General Meeting and Chapter Awards ceremony at the prestigious JW Marriott Chandigarh. The event aimed to recognize and celebrate the remarkable efforts of entrepreneurs throughout the year. The Chapter Awards served as a platform to commend the outstanding contributions of these entrepreneurs.
One of the noteworthy winners was the TiE Young Entrepreneurs Team from Learning Paths School, which received the esteemed Award for the Best Business Model at the TiE Young Entrepreneurs Global Pitch Competition. This recognition highlighted the team's exceptional business acumen and innovation.
In addition, TiE Chandigarh itself received significant acclaim by winning the for Best Support to Youth Entrepreneurs, a testament to the chapter's dedication to fostering and nurturing the young entrepreneurial spirit.
BJ Arun, a respected figure in the entrepreneurial world, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Having served as the Past Chair and Present Trustee of TiE Global, Arun brought with him a wealth of experience and insights.
The event's guest speaker was none other than Alok Bansal, Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of PB Fintech, a company that owns leading insurtech brand Policybazaar.com and lending marketplace Paisabazaar.com. Bansal emphasized the significance of building diverse teams with varying mindsets and providing them with the freedom to experiment, innovate, and contribute, which he believes is crucial for a business's success.
During the event, Robin Aggarwal, the President of TiE Chandigarh for the term 2022-23 and Director of Learning Paths School, took the opportunity to acknowledge the chapter's achievements. He expressed gratitude towards the current Executive Council, including Harit Mohan (Vice President), Satish Kumar Arora (Treasurer), and Gaurav Vasishta (General Secretary) for their valuable contributions. Aggarwal also announced Harit Mohan as the incoming president, continuing the chapter's tradition of capable leadership.
BJ Arun's impressive background as the CEO of July Systems, a leader in digital customer acquisition and engagement platform, and his co-founding of California Digital, a market leader in Linux-based High-Performance Computing, was highlighted. Notably, under his leadership, California Digital successfully deployed 'Thunder,' the fastest Supercomputer in North America and Europe at the Lawrence Livermore National Labs in 2004.

Arun's dedication to entrepreneurship extended beyond his successful ventures. He served as the Chairman of TiE Global Board of Trustees, a not-for-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals. With 57 chapters spanning 14 countries, TiE is committed to advancing entrepreneurship, and Arun's ongoing involvement as a Trustee on the TiE board showcased his continued passion for this cause.
