UNITED SIKHS Collaborating With Govt Agencies For Relief Operations
Amritsar, Hatay, Turkey: UNITED SIKHS is working with numerous governments and local organizations to expand aid to the most impacted areas as a response to one of the worst disasters to ever affect Turkey. This includes searching the debris for survivors and dispersing aid materials.
In addition to providing aid in Diyarbakir, the UNITED SIKHS team will establish a base in Hatay, one of southern Turkey's worst-affected provinces.
German and Danish volunteers have joined the relief efforts. In order to immediately extend humanitarian help to the most impacted areas, they are also working with local volunteers.
Gurpreet Singh, CEO of UNITED SIKHS, spoke about the catastrophe and the cooperation with governments and stated, "Seeing the extensive destruction and suffering, we are in pain. We are working with government organizations in Hatay to maximize assistance efforts across regions. Our supporters would assist in shipping relief consignments of essential commodities to Turkey as part of the program. In order to urgently provide humanitarian relief to the thousands harmed, we humbly request your kind assistance."
UNITED SIKHS International Humanitarian Aid Director Gurvinder Singh also made the case that the scope of the catastrophe necessitates a global response. "People are still buried beneath the debris. And those who do survive have nothing left. They urgently want humanitarian aid.
According to UNITED SIKHS's on-the-ground teams, supplies are urgently needed, particularly non-perishable items like baby food, water, tents, heaters, beds, pillows, warm socks, and shoes, as well as feminine hygiene products, portable toilets, and medical equipment.
UNITED SIKHS continues to offer humanitarian aid to those who are suffering from natural or man-made disasters, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Our teams have also given help to earthquake victims in Pakistan (2006), Haiti (2010), Chile (2010), Japan (2011), Pakistan-Afghanistan (2015), and Haiti (2010).
Kavita Kumar, a UNITED SIKHS volunteer from Denmark who joined the mission in Turkey said that it is hard to describe colossal damage and suffering. Temperatures are dropping below zero, making it worse for those displaced and homeless. Please help them by donating via https://donate-usa.keela.co/turkeyrelief
