Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), a leading global merchant and processor of agricultural commodities, has relaunched its edible oil brand, Vibhor, in India. The relaunch is part of LDC’s broader strategy to expand its reach across the value chain.

LDC has been active in India for the past 25 years and is reintroducing the Vibhor brand with its expertise and understanding of the local market to strengthen its position in the fast-growing Indian edible oil market, which is expected to reach US$ 34.75 billion in 2024 and grow at a rate of 4.94% per annum from 2024 to 2029.

Mr. Sumit Mittal, Country CEO, India, LDC said, “India is an important market for us. Our new Vibhor brand reflects our commitment to meet the needs of the health-conscious Indian consumer. “This relaunch will help us in our strategy to expand across the value chain and diversify our offerings with value-added products,” he added.

The new product range includes Vibhor refined soybean oil, palmolein oil, cottonseed oil, mustard oil and premium vanaspati, which are rich in essential vitamins A and D. These products meet the needs of a tasty and nutritious diet.

LDC will initially focus on North India for this product, followed by expanding the Vibhor brand across India by 2026. The expansion will be aided by LDC’s deep understanding of the market for both rural and urban populations and its wide network of retail outlets, supermarkets and online channels along with its global supply chain.
