Today, a crucial meeting was held at the party office of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi to address the urgent need for proper sanitation in the city, which has been grappling with a disaster-like situation due to floods and waterlogging. Leading the discussion were Delhi BJP President, Shri Virendra Sachdeva, along with General Secretary, Shri Harsh Malhotra, and LOP (Leader of Opposition), Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh.

During the meeting, Shri Sachdeva commended the efforts of party councilors, particularly those from the flood-affected areas, for their valuable contributions in providing relief to affected residents. He stressed the importance of taking immediate action to combat the aftermath of the floods, as water levels were receding, leaving behind stagnant water in various parts of the city, including unauthorized and resettlement colonies. This stagnant water posed a significant risk of insect-borne diseases, necessitating urgent steps for sanitation and fogging.

To tackle the sanitation issues effectively, Shri Sachdeva directed all party councilors to undertake special sanitation and fogging drives in their respective wards on the 20th and 21st of July. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, he also called upon senior councilors to form groups and provide assistance to those from the flood-affected wards to ensure thorough sanitation measures over the next two weeks.

In a show of solidarity and determination, the Delhi BJP President and other senior party office-bearers pledged to actively participate in the special campaign alongside the councilors. The united effort of the party aims to combat the sanitation challenges caused by the recent floods and alleviate the health risks posed by waterlogging. By working together, the BJP seeks to make a significant impact in safeguarding the well-being of the people and ensuring a cleaner and healthier Delhi.
